CCDF Voucher Details with 14,000 children moving from wait list to enrollment throughout Indiana!
From Chalkbeat Indiana: Child Care Vouchers to Resume
After a 15-month freeze, Indiana will resume Child Care and Development Fund (CCDF) vouchers, adding approximately 14,000 children back into the program.
While this is an important step forward, around 20,000 children are expected to remain on the waitlist.
What to expect:
Enrollment from the waitlist is anticipated to begin in late May
It will likely take 5–6 months to enroll the 14,000 children
Priority for enrollment:
1. Siblings of children already receiving vouchers
2. Infants and toddlers
3. Preschool-aged children
Note: School-age vouchers are not expected to be included at this time
Looking ahead:
The additional $200 million investment is expected to last one year
State leaders have indicated plans to request continued funding in the next budget cycle.
Full funding to serve all eligible children (including those on the waitlist) is estimated at approximately $350 million annually.
